London’s BIG Read
A LIBRARY members club initiative, LBR spotlights some talented London authors whose books and their topics have significant relevance for London's multicultural society today.
In conjunction with the Mayor of London,
2018 featured 6 books focused on diversity, cultural relevance and bold approach towards topics such as identity, equality and entrepreneurship in the UK.
2019 featured 14 books all written by female authors and largely focused on female empowerment.
London’s BIG READ was established to encourage London to read at least one (or all) of the shortlisted books and vote for the one you think ALL Londoners should read.
The winning book, chosen by Londoners, was awarded London's BIG READ for that year.
There was no LBR in 2020 and subsequently due to the global pandemic.
